The Spring Lake Community House held its third annual Golf Outing at Metedeconk National Golf Club on Monday, July 22, 2019.
The event was a great success, with a record attendance of 110 players. The golfers arrived early in the morning for check-in and breakfast before they set out to play 18 holes on the truly beautiful golf course that embraces the natural New Jersey wilderness with tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and subtly contoured greens.
After the game was over, the players returned to the clubhouse to enjoy an early dinner and raffle.
The beautiful, sunny weather held all through the event until a severe thunderstorm broke out mere hours later, causing blackouts all over the region.
The golf outing is one of two major fundraising events sponsored each year to help support ongoing capital improvements to the nearly 100-year-old building. The seventh annual Starlight Gala will be held on September 13, 2019.
Michael Konczyk, Sea Girt, a member of the Board of Trustees, is the powerful force behind the successful golf outings. He could not be more pleased with the event:
“We were blessed with a great attendance, great weather, for an amazing cause and a great event. The Spring Lake Community House is a very special place for children this day and age to grow up, to be who they want to be, with the world-changing every day.”
The Konczyk’s three daughters, Alexandra, Anastasia, and Tatiana have been involved in the Community House Workshop and Dance Program for several years.
A very warm thank you to everyone who participated in the event, to the host sponsor, Yale Electric, and to the sponsors who made the entire thing possible: Lighting Associates Inc, Old Dominion Lighting Associates, Rotuba, ERCO, Safran, International Lights, Charlie’s of Bay Head, One Source Associates, Inc, Lighting Associates, Cooper Electric and Lumenwerx.
