with students and their

door policy.

role models for our students,
bringing their experiences
and expertise to each class,
assisting each student on
reaching their goals.

Karen
Phillips Burlington
Director of Theatre
Workshop Program
Karen is a
graduate of St. Rose
High School and an original
Spring Lake Theatre
workshop member. She
attended the American
Academy of Dramatic
arts, NYC for
several years and is
a graduate of
Colgate University.
At Colgate, she
majored in English
Literature and spent
her junior year abroad
in London and Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Karen furthered her
education and
training as an
actress at the
prestigious
Institute for
Advanced Theatre
Training at Harvard
University. While in
Boston, Karen also
worked with the
Spencer/Colton dance
company. As a professional
actress, she has
appeared in: Off-Broadway
and Regional Theatre
productions,
Independent Film and
the Voice Over
field. She is very
happy to be back in
Spring Lake where it
all began, working
with good friends
and sharing what she
knows about theatre
with children.

Colleen
Magovern
Director of Dance Program
Colleen Magovern began
her theatre and dance
training at SLTC when she
was eight years old and went
on to graduate at Elon
University with a double
major in Dance and Business Marketing.
She has been teaching at
SLCH for the past seven
years in both the Theatre
Workshop and Dance programs.
Most recently, Colleen spent
several months training and
assisting world-famous choreographers
at The Broadway Dance Center
in New York City.

Gary
Farquhar
Musical Director
Gary Farquhar is an
experienced Musical Director,
Pianist and Singing Instructor.
He has a Bachelor's Degree
in Music from Temple University
where he was a Presser
Scholar. Gary has been a
Music Director for hundreds
of professional and
community theatre
productions. Gary is also
composer of the SLTC hit The
Rose Garden Affair.
